COVID19 : Now that we are Working Remotely.

Hey Lovers,
How are you all holding up in these uncertain times?
I hope you are trying our best to stay safe by practicing Social Distancing!
Also, wash your hands ! Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Truth is , I have been practising Social distancing all along (tbh) , so no complaints over here. The only thing is I was gonna do better at connecting and getting more involved with my environment, you know, get more social and also start going to the gym but then came Covid19.
Anyways, I guess Fit Fam will have to wait until after the Coronavirus situation blows over !
As of Tuesday , my company decided that its employees can work from home and as the perfectionist that I like to be , I started reading up on tips to get the best out of this WFH situation , productivity wise!
So, I have put together some tips to help you function “smartly” while working remotely from the comfort of your homes.
I write this mostly for my procrastinating self, but then I thought, why not share with you ? I am sure you will find some of these helpful.
1. Upgrade your workstation : it makes absolute sense that this should come first right? Your home set up should match , even rival your work set up. Having a external monitor is better , so you don’t end up squinting at the laptop all day!
2. Manage your time : Taking absolutely control of your time is essential. All of a sudden you are not constrained by the 9-5 block of time and inasmuch-as that is great, you might end up being less productive or working every where at every time ! To avoid this, get intentional about what you’re spending your time on during work hours by planning your day!
3. Over-communicate with the Team: it’s-already hard for people to believe the workload you have even when you all see each other , so you gotta communicate what you are doing a lot more ! Find excuses to send updates and be more explicit on what exactly you are working on . You can even start a weekly report . It can be simple, but you can start by using this template.

4. Schedule everything: most of the things that you just did while you are in the office has to be scheduled not for the fact that they are complex, just to avoid them being complex. Feel me? So mark your calendar with tasks or use your iPhone to do list . The best time to set this schedule Is over the weekend or first thing every morning. Say between 6-7am.
5. Build daily movement into your day : just because you are working from home doesn’t mean you have to sit at your desk all day! Move around! Get those steps in ! Build daily movements into your schedule . Get away from the screen, take coffee breaks.
